FOS - Please tell us a bit about yourself :)
Helium Project - Love is music, Music is passion and a way of life. also work for an EDM music festival, Sunburn.
FOS - How did you discover electronic music ?
Helium Project - all around me. didnt need to discover..haha!
FOS - Who was your biggest inspiration? And has he influenced your music in any way ?
Helium Project - undoubtedly John Digweed. everytime i hear him live, he alters my perception to dance music.
FOS - What do you enjoy most about music production ?
Helium Project - creating new sounds, giving birth to what you think in your head.
FOS - What is the best thing about your profession ?
Helium Project - i make party people have a good time and i take home their good vibes.
FOS - Do you get excited or nervous before your gigs, how do you handle bloopers if any ?
Helium Project - Yes i always am excited about my gigs, but never nervous. although i feel a sense of responsibilty behind the console.
FOS - How much time do you spend on music on any given day ?
Helium Project - Depends since i also work at Sunburn, but i manage to spend few hours each day on my research and production.
FOS - Who do you look at as an icon or symbol within the Electronic Music Scene ?If you could collaborate with any artist out right now who would it be ?
Helium Project - Its always Mr John Digweed.
FOS - You have had quite a rapid rise to the top, what were your big breaks and what advice can you give to Djs looking to make the breakthrough ?
Helium Project - well i guess jus follow your passion and be pure in what you feel and do. rest is all karma. Djs can never be adviced, music is very subjective and choices are different.
FOS - What do you think is going to separate you from all other new acts coming out ?
Helium Project - Well time will say, i dont like to distinguish in this sense, since talent cannot be measured or quantified but jus enjoyed. hence as long as i am making other people dance to my tunes, i am happy and thats what matters.
FOS - How have you gone about developing your signature Helium Project sound -
Helium Project - Yea i guess its the big basslines and psytek patterns which i always look for around the world. its the incessant search for such sounds without compromising ever in the last 7 years.
FOS - Are there any particular artists you’ve really enjoyed working with ?
Helium Project - Oh ya surely, Azax Syndrome, Dnox n Beckers, Atmos, D-Unity, John Digweed, Perfect Stranger, Djuma Soundsytem and many more.
FOS - Turning point in your Career ?
Helium Project - meeting Mr. John Digweed.
FOS - What can we expect to see from you in 2012 ?
Helium Project - Lotsa festivals that i am featuring in this. 2 new releases towards the end of the year.
FOS - Your DJing has taken you all over the country, what has been the most exciting destination for you so far ?
Helium Project - Well in the country i would say Sunburn goa 2011 was jus perfect since i got to share console with a great legend..Perfect Stranger.
FOS - Does the audience response overwhelm you? How do you react to such situation ?
Helium Project - never a problem.
FOS - How do you find the Indian crowd, and do you think EDM scene has changed in the past 5 years ?
Helium Project - it has changed big time and thanks to growing units like Sunburn which is the biggest amalgamation of EDM lovers in the country.

About Helium Project……… It’s the incessant bass, screaming arpeggios and piercing percussions that truly define Helium Project. His sound is all about paying homage to his first love, “Music”, and particularly about an explosive electronic experience... Helium has also been hosting a monthly one hour – radio show on Sato Radio(UK) since July 2010. In the past Helium Project has been involved in the Rework of Liquid Dreams - 2010 on Juno Records. Liquid dreams sounds like a classic, a blast from the past mix of pure progressive basslines with modern day Techno layers all the through. It’s true that there are other likeminded DJ/Producers in the world comparable to Helium Project, but for the most part, they choose a genre and master it. Ask them to flip another variety of EDM with the same intense knowledge and sleek-savvy and you’ll be hard pressed to find someone that’ll do it to Helium Project’s extent.
