Bio -
Michael “Miki” Parkinson was born in Vancouver Canada and grew up travelling between Vancouver and London England. During a trip to England in 1979 he became a fan of punk music and when he returned to Vancouver in 1980 he took up the guitar and formed a punk band called Immoral Majority. After several years of playing punk gigs around Vancouver, Miki left the group and went to study classical music composition at Simon Fraser University. Afterwards he went on to study music production at the Trebas Institute of Recording Arts.
While at university Miki formed The Subterraneans, an alternative rock band that had a hit on collage radio with “Hell is a Microwave”. After The Subterraneans broke up Miki went on to join Dirt, another alternative band and released a single titled “Ripoff” which did well again on collage radio.
After a few years away from music running a small software company, Miki returned to music running his own studio in Vancouver called “Skull Studios”. At the same time he began to work with electronic music, writing and recording 2 electronica albums, Internal Perspective and Upgrade.
Since 2007 Miki has worked primarily on Trance, Techno and Chill music producing many songs since then. In the summer of 2011 he enjoyed a hit on radio in Greece with his song “This is Athens”.
In December 2011 DJ MikiP released the single "A Song for Broken Dreams and Broken Hearts" through Interscope Digital Distribution.
